Introduction to general relativity  

The student becomes acquainted with Einstein's theory of relativity and thus with the notion of gravity as a manifestation of curved spacetime. The student learns how to apply the theory in a number of physical situations, correcting his/her intuition where necessary, and he/she studies the experimental foundations and tests of the theory. The student learns to interpret statements about relativity made in the popular scientific literature or in the media in general. He/she learns to appreciate the developments in relativity within the general historical context of physics.
