Measurement quality and error handling

EU objective This unit is intended to familiarize students with the notions of data quality and evaluation of uncertainties from the acquisition of a piece of data or a data set and to determine the propagation of errors when the data is integrated in a model. Content of the lessons The lessons are taught in the form of an integrated course (IT project) addressing the following aspects: - identification of sources of errors - determination of errors from physical data, weighted errors - precision, reproducibility and accuracy - error propagation (single and multiple variable function) - theoretical approach - stochastic approach by numerical simulation
