Summer school on the analysis and applications of the satellite data. The course provides an in depth explanation of remote-sensing principles, covering the methods and techniques used to extract information from environmental satellite data, with emphasis on the latest measuring technologies and newest spectral channels. The course consists of lectures and practical hands-on sessions with satellite data. Different analysis and visualization tools are introduced. Target Audience The course is targeted to intermediate and advanced users of satellite data for weather/EO applications. Expected Learning Outcomes understanding the basic principles of remote sensing getting to know about different satellite instruments and monitoring principles understanding the physical background of data in different channels and channels combinations including new FCI channels 0.9, 1.3 and 2.25 micron hands-on experience with satellite data visualisation using different methods and tools applying single channels and RGB images in the analysis and recognition of various cloud structures and land features including fires
