The 14th edition of the ESA/JRC International Summerschool on GNSS will be held in Kiruna, in the North of Sweden. This Summerschool aims at training future generations of scientists and engineers, to support the space programme and foster innovation in the domain of space related applications.
Lectures from internationally renowned scientists and specialists will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of satellite navigation, starting from the GNSS system, its signals, the processing of the observations in a receiver and finally determining the position-navigation-time (PNT) solution. To complement the theoretical lectures, many lab works are organised, providing attendees with hands-on experience. Additional lectures also cover aspects related to the implementation and commercialisation of GNSS products, such as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patents, as well as on business strategies. The future of satellite systems is also discussed.
Main emphasis will be put on the development of a group project, based on the attendees’ innovative ideas and covering all aspects from the business plan and technical feasibility until the marketing of the final product or service.
The program is open to graduate students (with a first university degree), Ph.D. candidates, early-stage researchers and young professional willing to broaden their knowledge from worldwide lecturers in the field of satellite navigation.
