Physics of positrons in solids and defects

LEARNING OUTCOMES After the course, the student will be able to describe sources of positrons and the interactions between energetic positrons and matter to explain the positron-electron annihilation process by using fundamental laws of physics to explain the working principles of energy, time and angle-resolved gamma spectroscopy of positron annihilation processes to derive the relationships between fundamental annihilation parameters detected in experiments to analyze experimental data from the perspective of defects in solids to discuss the use of theoretical calculations of positron annihilation signals in identification of defects in solids to study the scientific literature on positron annihilation in detail CONTENT Physics of positrons in solids. Defect spectroscopy with positron annihilation.
