The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the organization of geoinformatics education and geoinformatics research in Latvia, to give an idea of study methods and study process planning. The task of the course is to promote the primary knowledge and skills necessary for work in the computer network of the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences and to provide students with the ability to use a computer in the intended classes. Develop understanding and minimal skills in working with software.
Languages of instruction are English and Latvian.
Knowledge: 1. Describe the geoinformatics profile organizations of Latvia and what research is carried out in them. Skills: 2. Independently plans further studies and understands the principles of planning. Competence: 3. Understands the principles of scientific work planning and is able to choose the direction of his / her further research.
