LEARNING OUTCOMES The student knows basics of relativistic quantum field theory and can apply the methodology to leading order scattering processes. CONTENT Classical field theory and quantization of free real and complex scalar fields. Quantization of free Dirac field. Interacting theories and development of perturbation theory. Examples in quantum electrodynamics. Introduction to renormalisation.
